It's pushed everything else out of the way and made me a raving fangirl (as if I wasn't one already).
I mean really, this may be my most highly anticipated future book. I don't know when the next book in the trilogy comes out, but I can't wait. Han is a wonderfully compelling character that makes for a very readable book. He's got it all, that bad-boy history, the heart of gold, and a few secrets just to keep things interesting. Then there's Han who I am completely crushing on right now. She's also torn between 3 very eligible and yet at times, off limits, would-be suitors. She's torn between her duty to the crown and her love of life among the clan. She's fearless and caring, and really wants to change the world she's a part of. Raisa is an incredible character who I totally want to be when I grow up. In fact, I literally just finished it and hopped online to tell you all how much I loved it. Once I picked it up again, though, I just couldn't put it down. I was really only on about chapter three when the weekend started. I've been reading this for awhile, longer than I read most books, but I've been busy with school.
All of my favorite things were all rolled up into one fantastic read. This book had it all, romance, action, magic, and court intrigue. This new series, The Seven Realms, now has me chomping at the bit for book two ( The Exiled Queen, in case you were wondering). This book is incredible!! I read The Warrior Heir awhile ago and I really liked it, bought the other two books, but haven't gotten around to them yet. The Seven Realms will tremble when the lives of Han and Raisa collide in this stunning new page-turner from bestselling author Cinda Williams Chima.
But it seems like her mother has other plans for her-plans that include a suitor who goes against everything the Queendom stands for. She aspires to be like Hanalea-the legendary warrior queen who killed the Demon King and saved the world. Raisa wants to be more than an ornament in a glittering cage. Although Raisa will become eligible for marriage after her sixteenth name-day, she isn't looking forward to trading in her common sense and new skills for etiquette tutors and stuffy parties. She's just returned to court after three years of relative freedom with her father's family at Demonai camp - riding, hunting, and working the famous Clan markets. Meanwhile, Raisa ana'Marianna, Princess Heir of the Fells, has her own battles to fight. With a magical piece that powerful at stake, Han knows that the Bayars will stop at nothing to get it back. Han soon learns that the amulet has an evil history-it once belonged to the Demon King, the wizard who nearly destroyed the world a millennium ago. After a confrontation, Han takes an amulet from Micah Bayar, son of the High Wizard, to ensure the boy won't use it against them. While out hunting one day, Han and his Clan friend, Dancer catch three young wizards setting fire to the sacred mountain of Hanalea. They're clearly magicked-as he grows, they grow, and he's never been able to get them off. For as long as Han can remember, he's worn thick silver cuffs engraved with runes. Ironically, the only thing of value he has is something he can't sell. Reformed thief Han Alister will do almost anything to eke out a living for himself, his mother, and his sister Mari. Times are hard in the mountain city of Fellsmarch. Release Date: Available Now from Hyperion Books CH
